Ford Transit Connect concept – Holy Grail or Hail Mary?

Ford | Transit Connect
Yes, they refused the bailout offers, but considering the steady downward turn since Ford Motor Company’s peak in the late 90’s (1998 to be exact, when it hit just over $37 a share to the current $3.75) things should get interesting for the Consumer since they are going to have to put hybrid technology development on the front burner and essentially get ‘mean’ and ‘green’ with their designs. Enter the Ford Transit Connect, the perfect solution for forgetful & disorganized parents everywhere.

Kid Project – Build your own gaming system

March 11th, 2009 | 1 Comment | Posted in dad recomendation, entertainment, tech talk
Gaming Computer Kit

Here’s a great opportunity to spend some quality time with the kids, perhaps learn something about how computers are built or just geek-out with them and save a few bucks in the process. You can design and custom build pc just for gaming for a fraction of what they cost in the stores.

You can also get upgrade kits to increase your ram or replace your CPU. In theory, all you need is a screwdriver and you can save $100’s. The basic kit at Easy As My PC (which starts at $1,200+) comes with a 2.8G Core 2 Duo, 2G SDRAM and a graphics card option – that’s a pretty good start and it’s definitely a kit with room to grow. They include plain English (gosh, I hope so!) instructions with lots of illustrations and full manufacturer warranties.

Anybody privy to high-end PC prices know that with a little digging you can find some better bargains but the attraction to this type of package is that you know everything will fit and is properly rated for the motherboard and so forth.

Storybook Podcasts for Children

storytelling podcasts

By now, our collection of quality music for the kids has grown to a sizable playlist on our iPod. Yes, we have a number of “children’s music” compilations (I feel as if I am giving into music industry marketers when I do). But lately, we have grown tired of our selection, and have been searching for fresh alternatives for the long trips or even those long afternoons stuck in classic LA gridlock.

We have discovered some wonderful story time podcasts on iTunes and online at various websites. Whether it is some classic reads, the latest published storybook, or a quirky title we’re drawn too, this has become a wonderful “trick” for getting our preschooler to take a nap (mid-afternoon) when we know he is absolutely exhausted.

Some of our latest downloads include; Cinderella, Snow White, The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, Rumpelstiltskin, Peach Boy, A Chinese Fairytale, etc. (the list is long) When navigating iTunes click on the following links to find some free ‘gems’, [*click*] iTunes Store, then Podcasts, Audio Podcasts, and then Kids & Family – enjoy!
